James Matous is currently a junior at the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Religious Studies. Although he is not sure of his future plans in medicine, right now he is heavily considering enrolling in an MD-PhD dual degree program to become a physician scientist. James finds appealing the notion of advancing scientific knowledge in the laboratory and implementing it in clinical settings. Over this past summer he worked in a liver development lab at the University of Pennsylvania where he looked at a mutation in zebrafish that cause abnormal bile ducts. James will graduate in spring 2010
